St. Lawrence School

Academic Program

St. Lawrence is devoted to academic excellence. Our students outperform their public school counterparts on most standardized achievement tests. A partnership between our school and our parents creates a special climate for learning that paves the way for academic success.

The focus of the total education program at St. Lawrence is three-fold;

1. the development and application of sound basic skills

2. the use of custom-tailored learning experiences to develop a very positive self-concept, and

3. the provision of educational activities and experiences which allow each student to move as far toward academic excellence as his/her own ability will allow.

At St. Lawrence, each student is expected to achieve at a level in concert with his/her God-given ability.

Curriculum

The administration and faculty in line with state and Archdiocesan guidelines determine the curriculum at St. Lawrence. It is a living and growing program. We continually evaluate and update textbooks, selecting those recommended by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis which are, in our opinion, the best available.  Our curriculum is tailored to meet not only the stringent academic standards set by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, State of Indiana and U.S. Department of Education, but the unique needs of each of our students.
